IPY Planning Meeting Hobart 2006 The next IPAB meeting will be held on July 11, 2006, in Hobart, Tasmania, during the SCAR Physical Sciences Standing Committee Scientific Group meeting. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the SCAR/COMNAP conference.
The main goal of the meeting is consolidation of IPAB plans for enhanced buoy deployments during IPY. The challenge is to identify suitable icebreaker cruises where buoy deployments can be made, and to agree on the number of buoys to be deployed on each of them, and in certain regions.
